Procrastination affects us all. But for those with ADHD it may be even worse. We are simply more susceptible to procrastination because we are more susceptible to our emotions. And procrastination is because of emotions. Namely the emotion of fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of not looking good. This often displays itself as being a perfectionist. Often our emotions get the better of us and we procrastinate. Of course this causes more stress and deeper feelings of fear. Causing the procrastination to worsen. Being aware of our emotions and the reasons for them can help dramatically. We can teach ourself to work through them and get to work. No longer being a slave to our own emotions. Procrastination is a slippery slope. Negative emotions build up and just keep making things worse. The earlier we stop this the easier it is.
