Math may not be your child’s forte, but that does not mean his or her future is bleak.
My daughter got home upset yesterday when her friends discussed their future career choice: one wanted to be an engineer, one a nurse, the other a bank manager.
She cried and told me she hated math and struggled with it. She even believed that a fast-food restaurant would not hire her.
From one mother to another, she does struggle with numbers.
While consoling her, I wondered what careers could she focus on that did not rely on math.
And I found this excellent listicle from portal Business Insider that highlighted 25 jobs making US$60,000 a year that require little to no math skill.
The choices presented in the article covered a variety of fields. Just look at the top three:
3. Compliance manager
Median salary: US$103,530
Managers plan, direct, or coordinate activities of an organization to ensure compliance with ethical or regulatory standards.
2. Law teacher, post-secondary
Median salary: US$105,080
Law professors teach courses in law at a university or graduate level. This title includes both those primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
1. Judges, magistrate judges, and magistrates
Median salary: $118, 150
Judges arbitrate, advise, adjudicate, or administer justice in a court of law. They may sentence a defendant in criminal cases according to government statutes or sentencing guidelines, determine liability of a defendant in civil cases, and perform wedding ceremonies.
Keep calm and keep on searching
So parents, take heart. If you kids are not particularly good at crunching numbers, they can still look at other options out there that would help them make it in life. All you need to do is search, explore and think outside of the box.

You describe what you see at home. We turn it into a plan you start this week.
✓Answer 5 short questionnaires about what you already notice—30-45 minutes, at your own kitchen table
✓Your child sits no test and gets no score—nothing to schedule, nothing for them to dread
✓You do the answering, the AI does the writing, and a person reviews it before it reaches you
✓Access all 40+ courses instantly—reading, math, focus, processing & more, with new ones added regularly
Why we use AI, plainly: it writes from a knowledge base our team maintains and audits—we work through it line by line and pull anything the evidence stops supporting. Doing that by hand for every family would take weeks each. This way the roadmap you get on Tuesday reflects what we corrected on Monday, and a human still reads it before you do.
Your school district must evaluate your child free of charge if you ask in writing, whatever your income and whatever the outcome (US, 34 CFR 300.111 and 300.301(b)). That route takes time and answers a different question than you do. This one starts today, from what you already know.
Your answers stay yours. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand identifiable assessment data to outside AI companies to train their models. See our privacy policy.
Cancel anytime during your 7-day free trial—no risk.
A screener is a starting point, not a diagnosis. If your child might need formal accommodations (an IEP or 504 plan), or you suspect a vision, hearing, or medical cause, pursue a professional evaluation too—that's the only route to those supports.
