Navigating Early Communication Challenges
Bradley Rich’s early experiences with communication were fraught with difficulty. Words, often seen as the primary tool for interaction, were initially a source of negativity for him. Instead of relying on verbal communication, Bradley expressed himself through sounds and movements. This unconventional approach stemmed from his feeling of being an ‘alien’ in social situations, prompting him to question why he reacted differently from others.

Building on these insights, Bradley’s journey highlights the importance of recognizing and validating alternative forms of communication. For individuals with autism, traditional verbal communication may not always be the most effective or comfortable method. Encouraging the use of sounds, movements, or other non-verbal cues can provide a more natural and less stressful way for them to express themselves.
