Bullying has moved into a new age with the widespread use of computers. Just as dyslexic children 30 years ago were made fun of because they seemed “slower” than everyone else. No longer is the bully on the playground but sending our children mean messages, spreading rumors via social media, and various other methods of online torture. Most parents don’t even realize that this bullying is going on.

Cyberbullying and Dyslexia
“As the name suggests, cyberbullying is a special form of bullying that takes place online.”
Eventually, in his/her life, a dyslexic child will more than likely be burdened with a cyber-bully. Some people and website are trying to combat the rampant cyberbullying but they can only do so much. Unfortunately most people won’t report the cyber-bullying in fear of retaliation from peers or embarrassment. There is no way we can stop cyberbulling but we can speak to the people it happens to and prepare them for what may and hopefully may not happen.
