Inspired by the documentary Living on One Dollar a Day, a film about the effects of poverty on every day life in Guatemala, the author shares resources for designing a global awareness unit to teach children about the issues surrounding poverty and what they can do to help. Divided into eight short episodes, these videos make up an awareness film festival that covers many global issues including water scarcity, malnutrition, disaster relief, micro-finance, employment, and education in Guatemala.
