This article is about screening elementary school children for dyslexia. An assemblyman is proposing a bill in which every child, kindergarten through third grade, will be screened. The Teacher’s Association is opposed to this bill, saying it will be too expensive and could lead to over-diagnosing. Some of the groups opposing the bill have little or no training with dyslexia. A public hearing will be held in Sacramento.
