Rodric Bray’s bill for dyslexia aid passed out of committee in the Indiana Senate earlier this year. The bill’s final committee vote was 8-0. The goal of the bill is to have teacher’s in elementary school help identify dyslexia earlier, thus helping to intervene earlier and help the students with dyslexia as quickly as possible. Up to 20 percent of Americans suffer from some form of dyslexia, so there is wide need for a bill like this in Indiana and around the nation. The Bill moved onto the state senate for further consideration.
