Professors in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell’s College of Arts and Sciences have created a course for Ithaca High School. The course is taught on the IHS campus by graduate students and is open to all seniors who have completed most or all math courses offered by their school. The objective is to nurture students’ passion for mathematics and encourage them to major in math in college. The course is a win for the graduate students, too, as teaching teens gives them practice in communicating complicated ideas and concepts in simpler terms.
