East Carolina University is attempting to bridge the differences between learners and find a common method that allows students to focus on learning subjects. This method is supported by a grant funded project called College STAR, which utilizes the Universal Design for Learning ideologies. The UDL includes using clickers in class discussions, incorporating more audio and visual aids, including audio books in the textbook requirements, and engaging students in discussions and think sessions instead of traditional lectures. These principles aim to aid students who have may have issues with traditional learning methods and aims to create an inclusive college environment.
