The term summer school used to be a dreaded term for children that had to make up classes that they either failed or wanted to get a better grade in. There weren’t many kids who wanted to spend their summers in school, rather than out on their bikes or in the community pool. A youth development organization, 100 Black Men, hosts an annual 6 week course for students who CHOOSE to go to school in the summer.

100 Black Men provides a unique summer learning opportunity for kids.
The summer program has existed in some form for more than 30 years. It is designed to help keep children’s minds sharp from school year to school year. The program cost is $200. Children have classes covering math, language arts, and science through a variety of different methods and combine the learning with some fun recreational activities.
