The Every Student Shall Succeeds Act has been passed and signed into law by the president. This law replaces the No Child Left Behind act and does two things. The first thing that it does is gives more power to the states in determining graduation and testing requirements for students. The second thing it does is it specifically address students with disabilities but only time will tell how successful this initiative on students with disabilities will be.

Your school district must evaluate your child free of charge if you ask in writing, whatever your income and whatever the outcome (US, 34 CFR 300.111 and 300.301(b)). That route takes time and answers a different question than you do. This one starts today, from what you already know.
