“Parent’s Journey with Reading Recovery Program”
In addressing Dyslexia, a parent shared their experience with a program called “reading recovery,” which was an internal intervention designed for children struggling with reading. This 20-week intensive program aimed to assess the progress of children with Dyslexia and determine if further specialist support was necessary. If children did not show improvement after the program, they were referred for more specialized intervention. The parent, who benefited from training and observation in both the reading recovery and specialist programs, was led to become a specialist teacher in Dyslexia. For parents of children with Dyslexia, this insight underscores the importance of seeking early intervention and specialized programs, as they can significantly enhance reading skills and identify the need for additional support.
