Addressing Systemic Issues in Education for Black Girls
Research shows that Black girls with learning and thinking differences face unique challenges in the educational system, often being overlooked and criminalized. This systemic issue highlights the urgent need for change and advocacy to ensure these students receive the support they deserve. Schools must recognize and address the biases that lead to the disproportionate disciplining of Black girls, particularly those with learning differences.

Educators often find that without proper interventions and understanding, these students are at a higher risk of falling through the cracks. It is crucial for schools to implement policies that foster an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of race or learning ability, can thrive. By doing so, we can begin to dismantle the systemic barriers that hinder the educational progress of Black girls with learning and thinking differences.
