As a child that grew up in a generation of mass ADHD diagnosis I’m keenly aware of my own child’s learning development as a father. Learning disabilities (or strengths) spotted at an early age can be emphasized from the jump for the betterment of your child’s academic career. How do you teach organization or critical thinking to a child wired differently than their peers? Working from a simple chart a parent can develop a routine to ensure their child has their homework in the right folder every day or makes the right choice when presented a difficulty. If a child struggles with a particular step, the problem can easily be assessed and a solution discussed with their teacher. There are even helpful tips for doing homework! If only I’d known back in the 90’s that it wasn’t my entire fault. A winning routine means a happy child that looks forward to going to school rather than dreading it.
