Prescription Reform Brings Relief

Israel has officially amended the Dangerous Drugs Regulations, granting physicians the authority to issue two simultaneous prescriptions for attention and concentration medications—a change taking effect in June 2026. This reform addresses a longstanding bureaucratic barrier that forced families into a monthly race against the clock.

Previously, under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, prescriptions carried an extremely narrow filling window of just 8 days from the date issued. A single day’s delay or pharmacy shortage meant parents and patients had to schedule additional doctor visits just to request a new prescription, creating an endless cycle of frustration.
