Joan of Arc Middle School on the Upper West Side helps students excel in math due to the generous donation made by Columbia University. Top Honors Tutoring Program helps students excel and math and the students actually enjoy it. This is exciting because most kids do not enjoy math. In addition, this program comes with excellent incentives. The program is free and there is no homework allowed! What better way to really bring students in. The concept of having no homework allows students to learn at their own pace, no pressure. However, students are required to take assessments to monitor their learning progression. Even though, there are only 125 spots available the Top Honors Board hopes to expand in the future.
