Many parents focus on reading skills but studies show proficiency in math is a better predictor for success. Schools are finding that integrating math into all classes makes kids more successful. Studies also show kids are learning algebra younger. But it seems the stakes are higher for today’s children because even though graduation rate are higher than in the 50’s people are having a harder time getting jobs.
