Math education needs to start early #dyscalculia
American students are not taught math early enough.
One possible concern is that young children are not being exposed to math at an early enough age. Studies show that very young children at a preschool age need to be surrounded by number words and concepts so that they are better prepared to begin learning math in kindergarten. This is just one way that we can better the future for our students.
At home, they can count the number of plates needed to set the table, and they can weigh and measure flour and salt when they bake together. When children ask how long it takes for the cookies to bake in the oven, parents have another opportunity to use number talk.
