New grant aims to improve math and critical thinking skills for middle school students.
The robotics teaching will allow students to experience real-life applications of mathematical concepts as well as letting the students develop critical thinking skills. The district is working with Harry Cheng, a professor at UC Davis. The C-STEM program will start in the coming school year and replaces math intervention programs for students in middle schools. If everything goes well, the district will add C-STEM courses to high schools as well.
