Teachers at IPS are coming up with new ways to improve teaching in their classrooms by combining art studies and traditional academics. One teacher uses names of superheroes like Batman or Hulk to teach the different kinds of notes in notation music, while an arts director uses the Day of the Dead as an opportunity to explore his students’ creativity by teaching them songs or making masks.
