Government Powers Up Technical Educators with AI Skills

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced 500 offline ATAL Faculty Development Programs for the academic year 2026-27, representing a significant investment in teacher capabilities across India’s technical education system. The initiative was inaugurated by AICTE Chairman Yogesh Singh, who emphasized that these programs represent one of the main instruments for strengthening India’s technical education infrastructure.

The programs will include 500 basic six-day courses alongside 50 advanced two-week programs, covering 17 focus areas including semiconductors, space and defense technologies, AI and data science, quantum technology, and hydrogen energy. Only AICTE-approved institutions are eligible to apply, with the application portal open until April 13 and programs beginning June 15.
