India Announces Global Leadership Blueprint for AI in Education

India is preparing to offer the world a blueprint for the ideal use of artificial intelligence in education. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, announced the initiative at the AI Summit 2026, drawing parallels to India’s global leadership in digital public infrastructure like UPI.

“We aspire to create a comprehensive blueprint, just as we did in the finance sector. The model we have developed demonstrates scalability and sets a global benchmark,” Kamakoti stated. The plan spans student learning, research, teacher mentoring, multilingual access, parental empowerment, and support for learners with disabilities.
