A doctor for many years, Andrea Lubitti did not hear about autism until personal experience struck her son Jack at the age of 17 months old. He was diagnosed with severe autism when one day he just stopped engaging his parents. Doctors were still learning a lot about the disorder at the time of his diagnosis and treatments were still in their early infancy.

New book on autism seeks to educate
Over 30 years ago, one in two thousand children was diagnosed as autistic. Over the last ten years those numbers have exploded. Andrea’s mission is to ensure parents have access to information on the disorder as she did not many years ago. She recently published a book to help her accomplish that goal, entitled Awakened by Autism.
