Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) affects 4 million people in the USA. SPD can be associated with disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other emotional/behavioral disorders. The STAR Center partnered with FlagHouse to create a calming room designed to calm the “information overload” caused by SPD which often presents itself as hyperactivity, agitation, and defiant behaviors in children. The room features FlagHouse devices such as Laser Stars, Solar Projector, and the Thera-Gym Time-In Swing which is used to create a calming and enjoyable environment for children.
