Generation STEM: A Decade-Long Commitment

Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, has launched Generation STEM—a landmark 10-year initiative specifically designed to attract, support, retain, and train New South Wales students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics from school through to employment. The program represents one of the most comprehensive, long-term investments in STEM education the country has ever seen.

Rather than treating STEM engagement as a short-term intervention, this initiative recognizes that building strong STEM pathways requires sustained support across a student’s entire educational journey. From initial interest in primary school through to career-ready skills in high school and beyond, Generation STEM creates continuous opportunities for young Australians to develop their potential.
