This article is about Dr. Julie Kirby’s investigation of copying and note-taking in the classroom and how it affects the learning of dyslexic children. Copying and note-taking is almost a continuous activity in classroom learning.For children with dyslexia, copying off of whiteboards could be very challenging. Copying is a complex psychological process and very little research has been done on how it takes place on dyslexic children. Dr. Kirby conducts experiments in adults and children recording eye movements while they copy information from whiteboard and shares her interesting findings which are published in the Journal of Cognitive Psychology.
