AI Enters the Doctoral Classroom

In February 2026, Golden Gate University delivered an intensive Doctor of Business Administration program in Singapore that integrated generative AI throughout the research process. This wasn’t a theoretical discussion about AI in education—it was hands-on application of AI tools to real doctoral work.

Participants used AI to structure research proposals, develop business plans, and build dissertation frameworks. The program also covered business strategy, storytelling with data, and change management—essential skills for any doctoral researcher.

This represents a significant shift: rather than treating AI as something to fear or restrict in academic settings, this program embraced it as a scaffolding tool that can help students develop skills they need.
