Innovation Campus Gives Students Real-World Career Pathways

The Olathe Schools Innovation Campus welcomed its first students this semester, offering juniors and seniors a half-day immersive experience across fields ranging from animal science to avionics. The massive facility, funded through the district’s 2022 bond measure, gives high schoolers hands-on training that traditionally wouldn’t come until college or technical school.

Students can explore pathways in healthcare, business, technology, agriculture, and engineering—working with industry-standard equipment in spaces designed to mirror actual workplaces. A student-run restaurant lets future culinary and hospitality professionals hone their skills, while a simulated hospital room prepares aspiring healthcare workers with realistic clinical environments.
