Have you heard of the debate that is going on with the idea of the common core way of thinking when it comes to math in our schools? There has been plenty revolving around this topic and not just from the students or from the parents of those students. The truth is this way of learning math is completely different than the way that I remember being taught in school.

The debate still rages over the effectiveness of common core math.
The debate isn’t whether it is different or not but whether the common core standard for math is an advance or a setback in math education. "Key Takeaways:
With the advancement of technology, Common Core math standards focus on understanding concepts and how to apply them instead of how to calculate without error.

These standards were poorly applied at first, so we should focus on proper implementation and assessment of these standards instead of abandoning the Common Core.
