Dyscalculia, a disability impacting a student’s ability to perform mathematical operations, has the potential to cause critical issues with scholastic achievement. While thought to only affect math, new research has shown that this type of deficit can impact more than one learning domain. The study finds that 57% of students with dyscalculia also have a reading or spelling disability. This may change the way dyscalculia is treated and what type of support children will be receiving.
