Some believe that by raising math standards, the GDP will grow.
One person, Eric Hanushek, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution actually led a study on exactly that. He believes that if each state raised its secondary-level math achievement that it would increase the gross domestic product or GDP for that state.
