Michigan State College is lowering its standard for their requirements of math for the upcoming year. Students will no longer have to pass college level algebra starting in the fall of 2017. The alternative to these college level algebra classes are quantitative learning classes that will be new to the school.

Michigan State College is now providing alternatives to traditional math requirements.
Undergraduate counselors are already suggesting to some students to make the switch to a different course that can take the place of their math course for the next coming years in order to ensure that the students’ needs are met and that all the students are aware of the changes that are being made.
