Students and teachers at Skaneateles Middle School are working hard to revamp their math curriculum. Teachers are leading the initiative in an effort to promote individual learning and understanding in the math classroom. The bulk of the initiative relies on students learning from and being taught by their own mistakes.
Certain teachers visit the classroom of other teachers and use an evaluation method to learn from each other, and see if they agree with each other’s methods. The teachers that originally created these methods of observation will be presenting their findings. Other school teachers are looking to incorporate these methods in their “teacher learning” curriculum.
